Here’s a stunning original Frankart Art Deco nude lady metal 3 pc smoker’s set which includes the nude lady statue tray, pottery ashtray insert, and pottery container for cigarettes. Also known as the “Strider”. Model #T334. Made by Frankart Inc., New York. Circa 1930. Frankart products are original works of art designed in the Frankart Studio by Arthur von Frankenberg, and are very desirable by collectors. This fabulous deco lady is striding across a pottery ashtray from one corner to the other.Her head is turned to one side, and looking over her shoulder, her arms are stretched out, and she is holding a pottery container for cigarettes or it could be a vase for flowers. The pottery ashtray is original to the piece, but the container is a replacement but is from the same period.The deco lady is made of some kind of metal with a satin black painted surface – a magnet will not stick to it. The inserts are made of pottery, and the color is green with a touch of copper on the container (see pictures). The ashtray has a glossy finish, and the container has a matt finish. The overall measurement is 13-1/4″ tall and 9″ wide corner to corner (6-1/2″ side to side). The ashtray measures 4-1/4″ by 4-1/4″ wide, and 1″ deep. The container measures 4″ tall and 3″ wide at top.This wonderful deco lady is signed “FRANKART. INC.” and “PAT.APPLD.FOR” on top of the base (see picture).The pottery container is signed “CATALINA” on the bottom, and the ashtray is signed “1282”. The condition of the deco lady is excellent. There are no chips, breaks, or repairs.She looks like she has been repainted, and she looks very stunning.
