You
are a original 1960s desk/table lamp. The lampshade is made
of sheet metal lacquered mat black on the outside and white on the inside.
There is one bulb casing. The stem is made of a chrome rod fitted to the side
of the lamp with a large circular chrome joint to allow for adjustments. The
stem is fitted to the base of the lamp with another joint so that its angle can
be altered. The heavy base is made of cast iron with a teak
cover. The original black plastic switch is placed on the base.
The
lamp is in good condition and in full working order. There are age
related scratches on the black lacquer work on the lampshade. There is a long
scratch running along the left front corner of the shade and chips running
along 4cm of the back rim. There is also a chipped area (about 4cm long) along
the bottom rim of the shade below the circular chrome joint. The teak base
presents with a few age related scratches and marks. However, these do not
interfere with the overall look of the piece. The lamp takes one
small Edison screw (screw fit) bulb. It is fitted with a UK plug. As with all
vintage electrical equipment, it is advisable to have it checked by a qualified
electrician.
