Oh my gosh, this absolutely adorable 22″ German doll has the sweetest face. She has a papier
mache/compo head with molded brown hair, brown glass eyes with separate
eyelids that close over the top of the eyes. Open mouth with 2 lower
teeth and a felt tongue. She has arms and legs made of very thick celluloid. They were orange
so I had to repaint them. There will be scrubbing at the joints on the
arms and legs due to the material they are made of. Otherwise there
should be no scrubbing/scrapping issues. The torso is cloth with a mute
mama crier inside.This doll has been restored, meaning the head arms and legs have been repaired and repainted. Any cloth torso repairs were done by a previous owner and can easily be seen in the photos. Looks like they did a good/sturdy job to me.
She wears an antique baby slip with white
embroidery, and semi-sheer pink dress which has a torn tag on the back
that says Effanbee (the doll is not Effanbee, it’s was made in Germany,
most likely by Armand Marseille) The dress was in my dolly wardrobe
closet and just looked really cute on this doll so I used it. It was
more than likely once owned by a Bubbles doll. She also has a pair of
pink socks and white bonnet.
