Old antique vintage violin labeled Mattio Alban 1700, LOB 352mm , in with no cracks, only some signs of varnish wear due to is age. This instrument is made with incredibly handsome wood, in a very individual style of making. It also has a lot of Italian violin characteristics, from scroll to purfling, but mostly its sound. It is a small violin, almost 7/8 size, but the sound is impressively deep, in lower register it sounds almost like a viola. In upper register it is bright and sweet. As if this was not enough, it has very good projection and the maple on the back it’s just unbelievably beautiful. This would be an ideal violin for a person with small hands who would like to have a big sound.
