Description:

This violin exhibits many traits of finest Italian violin making tradition starting with well chosen tone woods: Two-piece back of bold, flamed maple is matched with sides and neck. The top is of beautifully shimmering fine to medium grained spruce. The workmanship of the violin is outstanding showing fine edges and corners and precisely inlaid purfling. Note beautifully shaped and executed “F” – holes, and nicely carved scroll volute. Needless to say on the inside violin shows same attention to quality and detail: linings, contoured 4 corner blocks, and hand carved bass bar. The varnish is beautifully rich amber – wild honey color.

Tone:

This violin sounds marvelous with very opulent vibrant tone rich with timber. Beautiful dramatic resonant -soprano color, clear harmonics, and great volume. Well balanced violin on all strings and up and down the finger board. The sound sustain is great, and projection is suitable for highest level of professional violin playing.

.

THIS VIOLIN IS IN GREAT STATE OF PRESERVATION AND HEALTHY.

 REPAIRS:

– Only 4 inch long closed center seam hair line on the top plate – Under the tail piece.

NO OTHER PAST REPAIRS, OR PRESENT ISSUES.

– The violin exibits normal signs of use and age: some dings, dents scrapes and varnish ware all over.

CONDITION:

The violin is in finest playing condition; being recently completely set up, and adjusted professionally. Ebony fittings were installed, as well as high end bridge, and a new set of Thomastik Visionn strings.

I do fully appreciate this violin for it makes me sound and feel better violinist that I am. I could not get the best out of it because it surpasses my abilities as a player. I am selling it simply because I need the money more than the violin of this quality.

This violin was passed down to me along with others from a family member who was serious violin collector and violinist in 50’s and 60’s. Since I didn’t get any papers relevant to it’s past; I have none to go with the violin.
