Up for bid starting at $1 with no reserve is this nice FULL SIZE old violin labelled Giuseppe Grossi Circa 1804 (See last photo for label). This violin is in solid and great condition for its age and has excellent patina and finish. I must say there are some repaired cracks but absolutely no open cracks on this violin. There is a small chip at the edge of the lower bout but that can be covered by a chin rest. There is a repaired hole in the back which was patched by a cleat on the inner part of the violin and sealed/reinforced on the exterior. Sound post is up. Bridge is a Lewis. This violin is fitted with a rand new tailpiece, fine tuner and set of strings and is in ready to play condition.
As far as the sound quality, this violin has a deep tone and is ideal for expressive or legato playing.
This violin will be shipped in a case (not shown in photo). Case is old and worn but will provide extra protection for the violin during shipping.
