Standing only 7.25 inches, this miniature antique doll has an undamaged bisque socket head by Armand Marseille and a divine, antique, composition flapper-style 1920s German body. Incised only; GERMANY//A 12/0 M, the head reveals original, blue, glass sleep eyes and a row of perfect top teeth. As pictured, the complexion on this doll is magnificent. Without rubs, it is very clean and evenly hued. Well-strung, the body is also in , save for a paint chip on the back of the left molded shoe. Otherwise without damage, it retains the smooth, original finish. The doll is fabulously costumed in a rather fanciful English-style jacket that is worn over a red felt vest, a cotton shirt and tidy cotton knickers. Although thinning, he also wears a mohair wig and a unique oilcloth hat that resembles the style a jockey might wear. If you collect small bisque head dolls, you will really love this one.
