This is a fantastic credenza by T. H. Robsjohn-Gibbings for Widdicomb. Bottom of drawer is marked and dated December of 1949. Signed with Widdicomb label in Top Right Drawer. This piece features Solid Mahogany and Mahogany over solid wood construction. Fully finished back allows this to be a free standing piece. Originally exectued with a limed finish, which we had professionally restored to a stunning Jet Black Satin Lacquer. The oversized and heavy brass pulls have their original finish and a stunning patina from age. On its original casters which is nice because it weighs about 300lbs. Solid oak drawers with dovetailed details throughout and solid mahogany faces. The piece is just breathtaking in person. If you are a buyer, dealer, decorator who appreciates the Hollywood Regency design esthetic, find the space, and BUY this piece. It is well worth it.
Condition is EXCELLENT! We had the cabinet Professionaly Refinished in Black Satin lacquer, and it is worthy of any High End showroom across the country. Brass retain their original patina and color. Structurally solid and very sturdy.
