This is an early Marples No. 32 Front Bent Spoon Gouge 3/16 Inch Wood Carving Chisel Tool
This great Marples Wood Carving Chisel is 9-3/8 inches long with a 3/16 inch-wide No. 32 Front Bent Spoon Gouge blade. The early William Marples wood carving chisels are hard to find.
This early hickory hardwood handle is in with nice wood grain, barely light signs of use, and nice lacquer finish with light owner mark. The steel blade is shiny clean with just light signs of age, and a sharp edge ready to fine hone and put to work. It came in a group of 128 super Marples, Addis, and other top maker wood carving chisels I recently acquired from a working woodshop that I will be listing in the coming months. A stellar Wood Chisel made from fine Sheffield steel by a superb British chisel-maker of their time for serious wood carving.
My chisels are always in clean, sharp, ready-to-use condition without damaged wood handles that you’d have to repair. So be careful of some shark-like tool sellers on who would have you pay higher prices for lower quality wood chisels.
No Reserve because I originally got it for a fair price and want it to go to a real carpenter, cabinetmaker, or woodworker who will put it to good woodworking use. Bid the starting bid and it sells to the highest bidder! Payment is due within 7 days of closing date for bid price plus calculated low USPS 1st Class Mail shipping in a bubble envelope plus Delivery Confirmation with no handling fee.
Note my low shipping costs compared to some other sellers as I only charge actual estimated shipping at the lowest cost to you. And please wait for my Invoice to pay so that the payment amount is correct.
Feel free to check with me if you have . If you win multiple items on the same weekend, I will combine shipping to lower your cost. Added postage for a 2nd purchase is usually half the stated postage or less, depending on your address.

Watch for my other weekly auctions as I clear my remaining assortment of antique wood chisels and family collectible items so I can get my spare bedroom free of boxes. Thanks for looking!
