LARGE Used by Mexican Lancers ,this is an iron pike, 20” long , no markings. THis is the longest one I have ever found, pretty rare! Good and solid. Lancers were stationed in presidios (military forts) throughout the southwest. From  the Mexican War ” A lancer, by the way, is a strong horse carrying a strong horseman carrying a long stick that has a sharp point. This lancer rides around on the battlefield trying to poke people with this stick so that they die, the Mexicans were the very best at this game.”Lancers were stationed in presidios (military forts) throughout the southwest. . Lancers were very deadly with spears. Dates to about 1750-1800. The point would of been mounted on a long wood shaft. Pitted but no repairs.
