This is a very fine / high quality enamel/silver w/guilloche and inlay design antique ladies powder compact. (1 of 2 listing) It measures 2 3/16″ or 55mm diameter and comes in a original silk bag which is tatered. The sky blue enamel is such that when moving the compact it reflects like ocean waves. The intricate filligree work is cut into the darker blue and along the edges and the back are machined turned guilloche which altogether makes for a very beautiful compact. There are 4 hallmarks on the small lift tab to the far right 900(in rectangle) then 3 more marks SB(in oval) but the last 2 marks I cannot make out. This is European I am sure but French – Austrian-German – English ?? Just not sure but am sure it is a fine and rare compact. The lid opens and closes precisely – NO breaks NO chips NO problems with this wonderful compact.
