Near fine condition! Full red Buckram cloth with bright gilt lettering and Masonic symbols. Illustrated chapter headings of secret freemasonry symbols, rites and rituals. Early copy; exact reprint of the 1871 first edition. Early editions have become highly sought after, for it is said that many changes were made to the text by modern Masonic groups in an effort to preserve the secrets found in this volume! Cloth binding is complete and retains the original dark maroon coloring; gold design is still very bright; spot on the upper left corner of the front cover–lighting highlights this wear, but it is not as noticeable in person. Interior binding is tight and square with clean white pages. Excellent collector’s copy!

Like New or Fine: An apparently unread copy in perfect condition. Dust jacket is intact, with no noticeable nicks or tears. Spine has no signs of creasing.
Very Good or Near Fine: Copy may have been read and may show small signs of wear. Pages are intact and are not marred by notes or highlighting. The spine remains undamaged. Dust jacket may have some rubbing and chipping. Wear will be included in the listing details.
Good: A copy that has been read, and is in the condition of an average used book. All pages are intact, and the cover is intact (including dust jacket, if applicable). The spine may show signs of wear. Generally, books in “Good” condition are not considered collectible grade.
Acceptable: A readable copy showing significant wear and, for all but the rarest of books, below collector grade. All pages are intact, and the cover is intact (the dust jacket may be missing). Pages can include considerable notes–in pen or highlighter–but the notes cannot obscure the text.
