I came on these years ago in a favorite back alley antique jewelry consignment shop in San Francisco. I don’t have much information on them except their age as estimated by the store personnel.
The appraiser wrote “unusual gold handiwork on these opal intarsia earrings made in 14K yellow gold containing (2) round white opal stones inlaid into black onyx (intarsia) stones measuring 20mm in diameter. Opals have low play-of-color. Heavy gold filagree work frame the opal stones measuring 25mm in width. The total weight of the earrings in 7.2 dots” They were appraised for $1600 in 2007, before gold price rise. I’m happy to include the appraisal.
