AN EXCEPTIONAL 1919 HAMPDEN POCKET WATCH!

It’s getting more and more difficult to find these rare and beautiful pieces of history! Serious pocket watch collectors will not want to miss the opportunity to own this oversized pocket watch with wonderful vintage features. This is the beefy 50 mm Hampden pocket watch that you’ve been waiting for! The gold tone case is in overall with only minor surface scratches from normal use over time, and features lovely chasing around the border of the back case and again all around the bezel. It also has a terrific engraving of a powerful steam engine in motion on the back case. You will both wind and set your newest watch at the twelve o’clock position with its sturdy crown underneath a unique rounded triangular bow which has its own stylish chasing. This beauty has that authentic antique feel that just cannot be reproduced!

Its fancy, bright white porcelain dial has highly stylized, crisp black numbers with fine black markers around the outside, with bold black dots and red numbers on the outside border of the dial at each five minute increment. Original blue steel light-spade style hands complement the piece wonderfully, and a double sunken sub-seconds auxiliary dial sits at the six o’clock position with its own miniature seconds hand and fine black markers that are numbered every ten seconds. The dial is signed “Hampden” and although there are some faint hairline cracks on the dial, we’re sure these small imperfections will not detract at all from your enjoyment of this piece. In fact, you’re simply not going to be able to help yourself from showing off this beautiful piece of history to your family and friends!

After turning over this piece and unscrewing back case, you’ll see the exceptionally clean movement is signed “Wm McKinley Canton, O.” and its serial number of 3590789 dates it to 1919! Having been carefully timed, this piece runs very well within a few minutes per day. The high grade 17 jewel movement is also embellished with the most beautiful damaskeening throughout – no detail has been overlooked in this classic piece!
