I am so thrilled to offer this gorgeous Antique Victorian 10ct 10k Gold Fancy Watch Chain . The links test as solid gold as does the barrel end clasp.. but the end insert that goes into the clasp tests as gold filled common in these times with gold that wasnt visible….
It measures 48cm or 19″ wearable length..hard to find this LONGER length .. This was probably originally a watch chain but i have always used as a necklace.

The chain is ornate and it has links that are all gold soldered and they look like a fancy paperclip chain..so popular in Victorian Times.

This is a finer style of chain and is Early Victorian Circa 1880..and may be earlier
HISTORY
Circa 1880 by design and styling ..possibly earlier around 1850.There are no visible hallmarks however gold was not required to be hallmarked prior to 1907 but the end barrel clasp which is a rose gold.. has what looks like a hallmark or makers mark on it..
DESCRIPTION & SIZING
.. The chain is 48cm or 19″in total length , .. and the links are lovely and fine and 5mm or 1/4″ long by 2mm or just 1/16″ wide This would support any large antique locket .. or looks fabulous with the locket i have listed in the other auction..
It weighs just under 2 grams which further adds to its appeal.. the barrel clasp works beautifully..It is lightweight but due to the gold soldered links can support a heavy weight locket.
. This is in overall wonderful condition considering its vast age
