Antique French wood theca frame 3,6 inches high by 4,1 inches wide which contains a relic of rather large size of St. John of God (1495-1550) repented ex-soldier and founder of the Order of Charity and the Order of the Hospitallers.
Black oval wood frame with a domed glass, golden inner frame with a red cloth interior with name label in french which reads “S.Jean de Dieu”. The large size relic is placed on a cotton backing with red strings above the name label.
The frame is firmly sealed on back with red ribbons and a center red wax official church seal with bishop’s hat and stem, all are intact.
Antique relic piece in very good condition with some wear and age only in the wood frame, with signs of an old repairs on the sides. The glass presents some bubbles typical of old glass but it was made this way. There is no hanging hook.
