There was some kind of white residue like wax on this bait but it wiped off perfectly clean and didn’t affect the value of the bait at all. I never fine cleaned the cracks or creases of the bait but GUARANTEE or your money back that it will clean up perfect with a q-tip and fine toothpick. I don’t think it has ever seen water. It was in a tackle box I picked up at an estate auction. New in the box with the insert paper. Really Cool, Rare that it has box and insert.Very Vintage, Antique. The company that produced this bait was Al’s Goldfish Lure Co. Indian Orchard, Mass. The insert inside reads fishin’ tips by joe bates jr. and describes this bait and some other diamond jim baits.
