Antique Victorian Venetian Aventurine Millefiori Beads Glass Necklace
Fabulous and rare strand of Venetian millefiori beads, with a black base glass and dazzling bands of glittering gold aventurine, set with beautiful, vivid "thousand flowers" canes, in colours of yellow, green, red, blue, brown and white. The beads were made in Venice in the late 1800s, the Victorian period. The effect is simply stunning. I have never come accross a set of these beads before.
The central bead measures a huge 2.7cm, then the beads graduate down to 14mm. The total length of the necklace is just under 27 inches, that’s 68cm. The necklace is newly hand knotted on black thread with the original solid aventurine spacers, and finished with an old barrel clasp.
The beads are in with no damage of any kind.
This is a very dramatic, beautiful necklace, a master example of this kind of bead making. Don’t miss it for your collection!
