ANTIQUE HAND PAINTED COFFEE POT
Wonderful antique tin coffee pot measuring about 9" tall. Featuring a hinged lid with carved wood finial, rolled edges to the applied loop handle, and pinch nose spout with interior pierced sieve, pot is solder constructed. Bearing old (I think original) black paint with a lovely stylized tulips and heart design on one side, a single flower on the other and whimsical touches on the handle, spout and lid, even the finial top wears a touch of red color. Paint is applied with a primitive hand, but has lovely folk art appeal – even the bottom edge has been rimmed in yellow – colors are primary and paint is worn, chipped, rubbed and faded – just adds to the wonderful look! Coffee pot condition is good with no dents, cracks, separation or major damage – the finial is a bit crooked, but very secure – hinge works great and lid has a tight seal – handle is sturdy and wide – designed to hold pot when full – interior has rust and wear, but still holds water – exterior has fading to the black paint and surface is dull from age. Even will all this, it displays beautifully – lovely primitive quality with charming folk art appeal. Wonderful addition to any country home or tole ware collection!
