I am currently auctioning off a substantial portion of my medicine and hair type bottles from my personal collection. In this lot, you are an antique
STERLING’S AMBROSIA FOR THE HAIR bottle from New York. Dating between 1860 – 1870, this early hair bottle is aqua in color and stands 6-1/8″ tall by 2-1/4″ wide across the base. It has a hand applied tapered collar, four recessed panels and an early key mold base. It is nicely embossed on three sides as follows:

This fairly crude looking early hair bottle is in with no cracks, chips or damage of any kind. There are mold flaws within the lip which clearly originated during the manufacturing process.
