Antique Favrile Tiffany Art Glass Vase.
I received this vase from a friend who acquired it in an estate sale in Pinehurst NC. It measures 12 inches tall and is footed measuring 4.5 inches at the base and 3 inches at the top opening. It is a beautiful blue with shades of green and amber at the bottom.It is signed L.C. Tiffany-Favrile There is a number 1547 and there is a number 31960. It has a paper label in the center with what looks like a J in the center.. It is in great condition and I have no idea if it is authentic or not. I have researched the Tiffany sites and I am not sure if it is real or not.The following information was givenme from my friend who recieved the vase. The vase belonged to Mr. Seaborn Perry o Pinehurst NC. He and his first wife lived at the Pierre Hotel In New York City where she was on the Board of the Metropolitan Opera. The Perry’s owned a large english Tudor home in Pinehurst where they entertained performers from the opera. It is believed to have been a gift from a mistro that was visiting.
Seaborn Perry’s second wife was Olivia Sheppaed Burr-Perry. Olivia’s mother was the granddaughter of Jay Gould. I have no way to authenticate any of this..I only include it as a means possibly giving age and authenticity of the vase. If anyone should know anything about the vase based on the numbers and the pictures that I have included..please advise. I have no intentions of misrepresenting the vase..only trying to offer it for sale to the bidde that might know its value.
