When cap is screwed on, the pen measures 5-1/2″ from tip to tip. Without cap, it measures right at 5″ from end to tip of nib.
The cap measures right at 2-1/4″ long
Pen has a gold metal band at bottom of cap. Also, there is a gold metal clip (with the Sheaffer marking) which has a gold
ball at bottom. A lever made of gold metal is also on the case / body of the pen, which measures right at 7/8″ long

Black portion of the pen appears to be made of celluloid. The nib is the only portion marked 14 ct. Remaining gold metal
portions may be gold also, but they have no markings.
I am not an expert on pens, and do not know the type of fountain pen this is and I’m not sure of how it works. I believe
it is the “dip” type…. it was in a box which also had a few other pens and an ink stand.
I furnished lots of website pictures that may help in your assessment. Likely the new owner, if familiar with how it works,
will be able to use it on a consistent basis. Because I don’t understand it, I’ haven’t used it.
On the cap, there are two holes (small, pin size holes) on either side of the clip. These are obviously part of the construction, not
chips, since they are perfectly round, so small and so perfectly placed. There are similar type holes on either side of the
lever of the case, but I’m not sure as to whether they are from wear or part of the design. The main wear on the pen is from
rubbing the case with fingers during use for many, many years….. this is an OLD pen. It has caused rub marks and some rough
areas right above the lever, likely where a thumb was placed repeatedly. This area shows on website picture. Overall, the pen is
probably in better than expected condition.
Nib is mostly clean… new owner may want to polish it up a bit. It’s in good shape.
