Antique SETH THOMAS #2 Weight Driven EARLY Regulator Wall Clock Long Drop Classy

Antique SETH THOMAS #2 Weight Driven EARLY Regulator Wall Clock Long Drop Classy

Antique

For auction is a very nice and very early Seth Thomas # 2 Regulator Clock.  This clock is a Long Drop and Weight Driven clock.  A truly terrific example of a 1800’s Seth Thomas Wall clock with TONS of character and beauty!  The face of this clock is made of metal, the pendulum and weight are in nice conditon and the clock comes with what is undoubtedly its’ original key.  This clock exhibits a subdued elegance with a classic design but still demands attention where ever it is displayed!  The dark interior of the case has several scratches… it appears the previous owner moved it around through the years without removing the weight and pendulum.  It could most likely be easily touched up.  However the inside of the case is decorated with a brass colored level and number tag.  In the bottom of the inside is a label stating the clock was manufactured by Seth Thomas. This is one of my most favorite clocks I have come across and it breaks my heart to have to let this one go!

I hung the pendulum and weight and wound the clock.  It makes a ticking sound but for some reason the hands of the clock and the seconds hand don’t move.  As the pendulum is swinging and the clock is making the ticking sound, I moved the minute hand manually but the clock did not gong or anything.  The movement of this clock is tucked up behind the face and I can barely see it not, let alone access it.  This clock may just need a minor adjustment or it might need parts or complete service.  I just don’t know.  Please keep this in mind when bidding.

As stated before, this clock has character and is a really stunning display piece.  I took as many pictures as allowed, please study each picture closely to make a judgement of this beautiful clock’s condition for yourself.  This is a great one, don’t let the opportunity to get this rare piece pass you by!

Thanks for looking and good luck!

PLEASE READ COMPLETELY BEFORE YOU BID!

All of my items are sold “AS-IS”.  I do my very best describing and photographing the items I sell.  I do not have extensive knowledge on everything I sell.  I gladly welcome questions or requests for additional pictures for buyer’s clarification. Don’t asume anything about my items, study the pictures (use the “zoom in” feature!) and please ask questions.
The countries which I generally ship to are Canada, Europe, United Kingdom, Germany, Asia, Japan and Australia. If you are a buyer interested in an item but live outside the United States of America, contact me before you bid.
If an item works (electronics, clocks, items with moving parts, ect) I will clearly state that in my ad.  Some of my ads will say “I can’t guarantee this item works, but I can’t see any reason why it wouldn’t”.  I am not attempting to “trick” anyone- I am stating honestly that I do not have the knowledge whether or not an item works like it should or not and bidders should bid accordingly.
I auction postcards in large lots on a fairly routine basis.  I cannot except or entertain requests for returns for any reason on lots of postcards.  I cannot record every single card in every lot thererfore if I excepted returns, that opens myself up to the possibility that someone could buy a big lot, remove just the cards they wanted and return the rest for a full return.  So if you have about postcards, please ask.  And again, keep in mind that my antique postcards are very old and made of paper.  I try to separate badly damaged postcards from my lots but given their age, there may be writing, blemishes, bent corner, writing, creases, small  tears, ect.  I separate and photograph the postcards I sell into groups of like subjects to get the most out of the limited photos in my ads.  It is a random selection and represent a general idea of what cards the lots contains.  I do not intentionally photograph any specific cards, good or bad.
costs are calculated to include the cost of shipping, any boxes, packing supplies (such as bubble wrap, tape, ect,) and a 10% addition to final shipping costs to cover the new policy regarding “Final Value on ”  I take pride in my packaging and shipping- check out my feedback- but please understand that shipping is not cheap and supplies cost me money.
The shipping company I have listed is what I have used in the past and am comfortable with.  I will absolutely do my best to ship with whatever shipping company the winning bidder requests.
Payment is due within four (4) days of the end of auction.  Buyers that fail to pay for their item within four days will be immediately reported to website.
Please do not wait until the last day of the auction to ask any question that you have.  I am away from my computer more than I am on it so I might not be able to answer your question before the end of the auction.  So please ask questions early.
