A pipe rack is pretty much just a pipe rack unless it’s something else entirely. This one conjures up images of a most elegant gentleman; one who’s well healed and has a refined sense of taste.

It is in beautiful condition with a fine original finish and no damage, not even to the deeply beveled glass in the locking door.

The cabinet measures 11” tall with a platform base 8 ½” wide and 7 ¾” deep. The top with the same routed molding is 8” by 7”, slightly smaller than the base making it significantly more graceful. And, there is more to the top than just a top.

Note the fine construction of the door. Fine craftsmanship.

Lift the lid, which is approximately half the top, for easy access to five pipes.

See the two small brass bracket/hooks, one on the lid and the other on the door? Close the lid, shut the door, turn the key, and everything is all locked up tight.

The rest of the description with more pictures continues below this memo about my two “Prime Directives:”

First: I never, under any circumstances, use a reserve, and everything starts at $9, sometimes even less. I never end auctions early.

Second: I rarely clean, repair, or otherwise monkey around with anything. Normally I push enough dust aside to note any flaws, but if I discovered it in some dusty attic, you can look forward to a little dust on it when it gets to your house. If it has a flaw or a wart, I’ll tell you about it.
So rest easy and have some fun. Why not place a little tiny bid right now so’s you don’t forget about it later.

The condition is best described as “investment or gift-giving.” No better example can be found.

A remnant of what must have been the original paper label remains on the back.

I didn’t think I’d ever sell this piece, but here I am again; surprising myownfoolself.
