ANTIQUE OX BONE OPERA GLASSES vintage 19th century
This is a beautiful pair of antique ox bone clad opera glasses, with their original leather case. There is a small manufacturers stamp in the shape of a star with a letter “c” in the centre, which I believe is for the French makers “Colemont”
Condition:- Good condition for their age with some signs of age and use. The metal work will benefit from polishing. The focusing mechanism is working. The lenses are not chipped or broken. It looks as if there is a join in the ox bone on one side which has opened up slightly and this has been filled (see photo). I will be happy to answer . The leather case has a broken clasp and the lining on the lid is missing.
