I can’t find a date on this old Milton’s Paradise Lost Illustrated by Gustave Dore. Awesome plates by Dore all in great condition. Plates are numbered 1 through 50 although not in order throughout the book.
Edge and color wear on the hard covers. Both front and back covers have come apart from the pages, but still bound to the spine. The first paper page (no printing) has torn away (but is still there). Pages 311 to end have come loose from the binding. Some edge wear on the beginning and ending pages. 313 pages plus the 50 plates. Edited – With notes and a Life of Milton by Robert Vaughan, D.D. (about 40 pages for the life of John Milton and introduction.) Published New York COLLIER 11, 13 and 15 Vandewater Street.
