, is a wonderful early Tin Type of a small boy in a childs Civil War uniform, holding a buggy whip. This dates around the 1860’s. The little leather bound case has an embossed image of a cross and looks like it had a repair at one time but, that looks to be quite old. The tiny hook clasp works fine.On the inside the left side does have a place for a photo and I’m not sure what the metal is, it has the look or color of copper. The measurements of the case are 2 3/4″ x 2 1/2″.A beautiful little piece for your Tin Type collection.
