UP FOR BIDS IS THIS VERY NICE PAIR OF ‘LEMAIRE PARIS’ OPERA GLASS, BINOCULARS, FROM
THE 1920’S. THE INSIDE TUBES AS WELL AS THE OUTSIDE CASING IS IN BEAUTIFUL *MOTHER OF
PEARL*, THAT IS FREE OF CHIPS, CRACKS OR SCRATCHES AND ALL OF THE LENSES ARE FREE OF
SCRATCHES, AS WELL.
THE MECHANISM WORKS VERY SMOOTHLY AND THE OPERA GLASSES COME WITH THE ORIGINAL
CASE, WHICH SHOWS SOME NORMAL WEAR SIGNS. THE CASE DOES NOT HAVE A LITTLE ‘NUBBIN’, ON
THE CLOSURE SECTION, THEREFORE, THE KNOB DOES NOT HAVE A PLACE TO ‘HOOK’ ONTO, TO
KEEP THE COVER CLOSED SECURELY, BUT WITH A LITTLE,’INGENUITY’ THIS COULD BE REMEDIED.
THE 2 BRIDGES HAVE THE MAKERS MARK, (WHICH IS THE ‘BEE’), THE NUMBER 41101A, MADE IN FRANCE,
AND THE NUMBER 64, IS ALSO VISIBLE. BOTH BRIDGES DO SHOW SOME SIGNS OF ‘MINOR PITTING’.
THE BRASS ‘BUTTON’ ON THE FRONT OF THE CASE HAS THE MARK OF THE ‘BEE’ ALSO.
THE OPERA GLASSES MEASURE: 4″ X 2.25″, (4″ X 3″ – WHEN OPEN) .
THESE AREAN ‘EXCEPTIONAL’ ITEM, THAT DIFFERS FROM MOST, BECAUSE OF THE *MOTHER OF
PEARL* BEING ON 90% OF THE BODY.
GOOD LUCK BIDDING !!!!!
