Here we have a very rare find and that would be a large antique Belgian Yellow Cottcule sharpening stone These are considered to be THE best stone you can use for final sharpening and to use to put a razor edge on. This was the prefered stone by knowledgable people to use to sharpen not only Razors but also knives and wood working tools as well. A classic stone that came out of a very small area in Belgium today they are very hard to find with most of the quality stones having been quarried out years ago, .This natural stone measures about 8 X 2 1/4 X 1 1/8 inch. Condition is I would say is at least GOOD – VERY GOOD. No cracks, breaks, large chips and top and bottom are flat with no dips and not sway backed. Stone has some small chips along the edges but nothing real big or that should affect anything. Please see my photos I took showing the worse of them. Stone is not glazed or shows signs of being used wiith oil.
