This is a very good antique working merganser decoy that I have been told by several knowledgable collectors that it is from New Jersey. It has a partially hollowed body and retains the lead weight and leather rig attachment. The carving and positioning of the head is quite good, a very racey look. It has in use repaint which is flaking a little. There is a minor, old chip under the beak. A wonderful looking bird with NO RESERVE.
