In front of the barn on metal post for many many years.. as I walked by I decided someone would LOVE to own such a super piece of the past ..absolutely a FANTASTIC Find.. If you ride english or western.. jump.. race.. or pleasure ride this is for you.. It is LARGE .. measures about 9 1/2 inches from top of ear to decorated bottom.. .. it is HEAVY .. weighs about 9 POUNDS !!..Original Patina as found.. and is CAST IRON with a hole in the bottom to slip over a metal post or it has 2 holes in the round bottom for screws or nails to mount on wood post .. at a gate.. mail box.. or TIE POST .. HITCHING POST .. Large heavy iron ring to tie reins too or rope while you saddle .. these were very popular many many years ago at ranches and plantations to tie saddle horses as well as the horses that pulled the buggies and wagons.. ..very tarnished from age.. which adds more to it’s vintage look.. if you want you can clean.. I like it the way it is.. !! .. the mane is on one side and for top .. nice expression.. just a GREAT PIECE OF American History!
I LOVE IT and this is another thing that is awefull hard to part with.. please enjoy it as much as I .. good home important..
Use it at the track.. training barn.. show barn.. stable tie post ..hitching post ..OR how about desplaying it on a Gate post or even a Mail box or or or !!!!
