This stunning antique quilt was made by my great-grandmother in the early 1900s. She hand-stitched the entire quilt herself, so the stitches are uniform. The dominant color is purple with offsetting greens, pinks, blues, oranges, and yellows. Thirty iris-like flowers adorn the quilt. The quilt measures 70″ wide x 93″ long. Purple binding is hand-sewn. The quilt has been closet kept and is like brand new. The few small stains are shown in the pictures. In a few places, the white material used is slightly different than the rest of the white material, as seen in picture 10. Quilting is quite close at about 1.5 inches. Light filling. This is a family quilt. I do not have children to pass it on to, and I am downsizing. I want it to go to someone who has the capacity to enjoy the quality and beauty of this piece!
