ANTIQUE GOLD ROLEX MEN’S WATCH OYSTER 9C HEXAGONAL CASE ART DECO 1930’S

ANTIQUE GOLD ROLEX MEN’S WATCH OYSTER 9C HEXAGONAL CASE ART DECO 1930’S

ANTIQUE Estate find – men’s watch – this was the lady’s father’s watch bought for his 21st on 16.3.1935 so had one owner from new. (see her mother’s Rolex is in a seperate auction)

Tests as 9 carat gold.

Dial is engine turned with luminous painted Arabic Numerals (not very luminous now though)
The dial looks perfect but a little hard to see as the original glass has yellowed with age.

Marked “Rolex Oyster” to dial and “Swiss made at bottom”

The rear is monogrammed and dated. There are some scratches around the rear cover.

Case 32 mm

Different coloured golds – the stem, back and body are all different golds. They all test as 9 carat.

I have not removed the back but the watch appears to wind and set well and keep relatively good time over a day. The stem is a screw down one as I think these are meant to be waterproof.

Due to the antique nature of this watch I cannot guarantee it’s long term working condition.

I have attached a new handmade French made leather strap marked “Veau Box Fait Main 14”
