We are pleased to offer an antique (late 1800s to early 1900s) amber, barrel-shaped, humidor jar with the original tin screw-on lid and bail handle. It’s embossed on one side, “GLOBE / TOBACCO COMPANY / DETROIT MICHIGAN / PATENTED OCT 10th 1882“. The jar measures 7-1/2″ tall by 3-1/2” in diameter at the top rim, and has genuine age, judging by the ground lip and honest bottom-wear. It’s in very good condition, with no chips or cracks and minor surface wear. There are air bubbles and defects common to this type of early utility glass. A desireable and attractive addition to an antique tobacciana collection!
