ANTIQUE GEORGIAN MAHOGANY 2 COMPT TEA CADDY c1830.

Its measurements are approx 7 1/2 x 4 3/2 x 6 inches high.

Although in very good condition, firstly I’ll point out that (bought as such by me) that the interior has an early, quite cute refitting. So, generally
the box is in very good condition. Externally mahogany with brass carrying handle to the lid, nice escutcheon with the key working well in the lock. The lid,
although shutting and locking well, is very slightly askew. As
mentioned the box has some early hard to spot repairs, the most noticeable is at the back of the box and is well photo’d, the box being supported on bun feet, but one of them has a novel reapir as can be seen in the
photo of the underside. Internally the box has been re lined, and uses one single lid (of the type that would have just sat on the top of the tea). An
early re fitting but in good condition and looks quite sweet, so the box is being sold like this. But overall this is a nicely proportioned late
Georgian / William 1V box, circa 1830, that looks good and is ready for display or use.

The box has been cleaned & wax polished, it looks smart & as such is very
presentable.
