This auction is for an antique Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. Air Chief Model R165/AS table/mantle 5-tube radio in an Art Deco Wooden cabinet made in 1936.
I plugged it in and the dial light came, but it only hummed and I could not get any stations to come in. It uses the following tubes: 6C6, (2) 6D6’s), 41, and 84/6Z4.
The cabinet is in pretty nice condition but does have a busted corner on top along with some wear and tear and scratches.
I’m not sure if the knobs are original, but they are matching and in great condition as well as function just fine.
The dial face, domed glass cover, and surrounding escutcheon are all in real nice condition. A real nice looking original (except for the updated power cord)!
