Eggs for Hatching Wood Box
This is a Rare “EGGS FOR HATCHING” Wood Box as marked on the front.
One end is marked: “SAFE-EG-PAK for Hatchings STAR EGG CARRIERS & TRAYS MFG. CO. ROCHESTER, N.Y., U.S.A.”
The lid has a paper label marked: “HANDLE WITH CARE THANK YOU”. The label is faded & pieces of the paper are missing around the edges.
The box is dovetailed. Metal brackets hold the lid on the box. The lid slides off the box. Two (2) screw holes in the top of the box for holding lid in place. The screws are inside the box.
Inside the box are two (2) padded shipping papers. Paper has been sewn to the top & bottom of felt-type material. One padded paper is on the bottom of the box & the other is on the top. Between the padded papers are egg dividers for holding the eggs. Unusual divider design … (see photo). At each end of the divider is stapled a cotton strap to pull the divider out of the box without damage.
Approximate Measurements: 12″ x 7.5″ x 3.75″
Condition: Used condition with wear & scratches consistent with use, age, & storage.
