Offered here for your bidding pleasure is this antique composition 21″ Ideal Deanna Durbin celebrity doll in her original tagged clothes and with her original pin! Dating to 1938, she’s a beauty with lovely high coloring–something you don’t often find! The doll is elastic string jointed at the neck, shoulders, and hips. The stringing is nice and tight so she will hold any pose. She has her original human hair wig in the factory set. It has the original bobby pins in place and is full but a little messy. The doll has glassine sleep eyes that have crystallized but are nice and dark under her full sable lashes.She has all original face paint including multi-stroke eyebrows and dark, red lips, parted to reveal her pearly whites and a felt tongue. Her cheeks are nicely blushed. She does have a few fine craze lines crossing her face, and I suggest you use the zoom lens to examine these. The composition on her body is in great shape, with very little crazing to note. Her fingernail polish remains intact, as does the blushing on her knees ant the backs of her hands. There is a chip of paint off the pinky on her left hand, as photographed. Also, at the back of her neck at the top of the socket, underneath her head, there is some chipping, as pictured. She is marked IDEAL DOLL, with a backwards 21 on her back, and IDEAL DOLL on the back of her head.
She is wearing her all original, tagged ensemble that is in very good condition except for age yellowing to all of the pieces. A gentle soak may improve their appearance dramatically. The dress and undergarments close with small brass safety pins. Besides her flower sprigged dress with ribbon sash, there is a hair bow, her original pin, a onesie trimmed in lace and a long half slip trimmed in matching lace, as well as her gold, t-strap oil cloth shoes. Both the shoes have their heels, which is nice, though the sole of one shoes is a little worn. I think the new owner should be delighted with this doll as she is in excellent, vintage condition, and very complete!
