Offered in this sale is an antique hand painted German porcelain figural bust of a child that was made by Carl Thieme Potschappel in the very late 1800s – early 1900s. It is marked on the underside of the base with the company’s “first” period mark which you can see illustrated in the 2nd image. It is also impressed with the number 2193 which I assume is a model number. It measures roughly 7 3/8″ tall x 6″ wide. The condition is very good. One of the four ribbons of the bow on the side of the head is missing (see 7th image) and there are a couple of small flakes to the tips of the petals on the bust (see 4th image), otherwise, there are no other chips, cracks, flakes, hairlines or restoration.
