Antique Art Deco 18ct Solid Gold Large Ruby Pin Brooch c1920
This is for an antique Art Deco 18ct solid gold large ruby pin brooch, circa 1920.
Made of 18ct solid gold, the claw setting is set with a large ruby. The ruby is natural, and is a very nice oval cut, measuring 5.5 mm in height, and 4.7 mm in width, with a good depth, and an estimated weight of 0.30 – 0.40 carat. The ruby has an excellent deep red hue, and has a very good eye clean clarity, with a few very small inclusions showing under a strong loupe, there are no chips, breaks, scratches or other blemishes. The attachment pin is chased with a grip to attach into a button hole. This brooch is unmarked, but tests as high carat solid gold. The brooch measures 57 mm in length. The condition is generally excellent, without damage or repair, the gold has light surface wear, which is the patina of age. Please see images.
