Hello! my Auction! Here for your consideration today is this Antique Tear-Drop wood cased Ansonia Mantle Clock. This clock is in good condition for it’s age, still working since June 13, 1882. Made by Ansonia Clock Com. New York. The working’s have the correct Ansonia stamp on them. This clock strikes on the half hour and count’s the hour on a Bell, if there ever was a gong strike, I do not know. This clock was purchased in town at an estate sale back in the late 90’s. It has sat above the fire place ever since. The previous owner obviously has done some fiddeling around, he had not secured the working’s very tightly to the case. They are a slightly loose from the case. Nothing bad or anything, I just want you the buyer to know this. There are 2 screw’s that came with the clock, I imagine they are the missing link’s to the movement being abit loose. They will be mailed with the key and pendulum in a seperate envelope attached underneath the outside case. The clock remain’s as it was when purchased. I have not attempted any repair’s. The only cleaning comes from the occassional light dusting. The pendulum is missing most of it’s gold gild paint. The clock face is showing it’s age. I believe the face is paint over tin. There is some sort of measuring label inside the case, not sure what it is unless it has something to do with the pendulum swing. It also read’s Ansonia. There is no other label. The door is secured with a metal hook. The glass is Old, you can see the bubbles in the glass and the wavyness you see in real old glass. The metal Ansonia Face is center top of clock.
