This is a very rare maker marked pair of early 1900 Cowboy Wooly Chaps–they are clearly stamped J Custom B (the rivet covers most of the B) –this mark was used by John P. Buckley that was in business with Otto Ernst –they operated together from 1902-1907 in Sheridan, Wyoming–then Mr. Ernst bought out Buckley–for being over 100 years old they are in amazing condition–the leather is still supple and not falling apart–the hair is not falling out–the belt is beautifully tooled-the hair is nice and fluffy (in most places) they will fit a waist of 30-42 in.–they are 37-1/2 in. long–they have the large old buckle for adjustment-when lying flat—they measure 12 in. wide at top thigh area–then near knee is 11 and bottom being 9-1/2 in. –there are 2 inside pockets and one has a canvas patch on it–the hair in a few places has been glued down–or some minor restoration done to them–these are a great pair of highly collectible woolies–thanks for looking….
