You are a 21j Ball Hamilton 16 size railroad pocket watch. This watch comes from the first run of 16 size watches made by Hamilton for ball, from sn B600001-B601000. These first few runs of Ball-Hamiltons differ from later production in having the patent Ball-Cobb hairspring stud, and being fitted with a motor barrel.
The movement has some scattered rust on the winding wheels, but overall presents well. It runs well, and keeps time dial up, but the timing is all over the place in other positions(probably a poising problem or other issues that I didn’t take the time to iron out). It has been cleaned and oiled, and has a fresh alloy mainspring.
The dial is correct for the age and grade of the watch, but has a big chunk of enamel missing from 21 minutes to 23 minutes as well as several other scattered hairlines.
The case is clearly not original to the movement. It serves well as a movement holder, and both back and bezel screw on and off fine.
Thanks for looking, and good luck bidding.
