18th C Antique Rev War Era Forged Iron Tavern Mug SteinTankard Jug Pitcher

18th

6 1/4″ High x 3 5/8″ Bottom x 3″ Top

1 lbs. 5 oz.

A nice 18th Century Revolutionary War Era Tavern Mug or Stein.
Fine
size on this period drinking vessel, quite similar to those illustrated
in George Nuemann’s “Early American Antique Country Furnishings”.
A
great example of period craftsmanship and quality, please take a moment
to view the pictures for the signs of hand forged tin
and iron construction.
Piece such as this were popular at period taverns and public houses, most often being filled with ales.
Some
slight pitting to the surface from age, else a very good example of an
early American tavern mug that would look lovely displayed in a Colonial
period home or collection of materials surround the Revolutionary War.Up for a week with no reserve and a low starting bid. Thanks for visiting The Country Tin!
