This all-wood, spring-jointed Schoenhut doll (missing decal) has brown wooden sleep eyes, a replaced, antique mohair wig and molded teeth. Holding an adorable cloth baby, she may be costumed in an original dress. Her flaws include surface scratches and paint loss with repaint to her eyes, a dented nose, generalized paint loss and a glued right knee. As a previous owner repainted the eyelids, some of that paint is visible on the top of the right eye’s iris. Although one knee no longer bends, the hip and foot of the affected side, have excellent mobility. She is clothed in an early, light-pink, cotton dress that is worn over a vintage undershirt. Despite fading and light soiling, the dress is in very good condition without significant repairs. Pleated down the front, it is detailed with a cloth belt that is presently pinned on. Despite the knee problem, the dolls body is in good condition with the paint largely original. The sweet little cloth dolly that she holds is also included in the sale.
