This monumental pair of mid century, 1950s or earlier lamps made from two tall oriental, probably Chinese vases, mounted with original bakelite and high quality wood finials to cover the vase openings, are mounted on lovely, matching hand-carved stands. The wood is lighter than most. The set is spectacular.The huge vases are decorated in a rich green background, with birds and floral themes repeated on each side.
Condition on one is excellent, without chips, cracks, or flakes, and only very light signs of wear. The second vase has a hairline crack at the top edge – it is visible in two pictures here and is on the back side of the vase, and extends about 1.5″ down the side before disappearing or stopping.Light signs of use as would be expected.The wood on the bases has warped a bit with age. The lamps, from base to top of harp, measure 31″ tall.
Electrical is as-found – you assume all risk of continued use. Cords are undamaged. Switches are beautiful bakelite and are also in . Fixed harps – you can remove these and opt for a standard adjustable harp and bracket mounting if you want – all of these parts are available at the big box hardware stores, or a legacy lighting store in your area will probably have a repair person awaiting your needs.

SHIPPING OPTIONS AND COSTS: U.S. Priority Mail for lighter and smaller items is available to all U.S. residents. Parcel Post has become the least expensive shipping option and takes up to 10 business days in transit. Fed Ex Ground is used for heavier and larger items and is ONLY available to residents in the Lower 48, and not for Alaska, Hawaii, or APOs.
SHIPPING MATERIALS: I pack simply with quality materials to ensure safe arrival of your purchase. Typically, you’ll find your item gently wrapped in paper sans tape, surrounded by lots of loose-fill popcorn to absorb shock during transit. Styrene loose fill is expensive but it works; please consider reusing it or passing it on to another seller for recycling.
