THANK YOU for considering our loaded with extras, clean and complete but currently non-running condition Illinois Grade “706†(marked) model, 16 size, open face, 17 jewels, adjusted to 4 positions, Model 9, Grade 706, gold jewel settings, gold-washed finishing screws, full gold train, bridge design nickel plate, stem wind, lever set, fancy dress or “trolley†grade movement. Here’s a great movement by Illinois for the folks who need accurate time but not atomically so – the 17J 4P dress/trolley grade movement. This fine Illinois 706 movement tries to run when the center wheel is pressed, but it’s very hesitant and perhaps slightly dirty. The staff is good, the mainspring is good, winds-up and lets-down properly, and it sets as designed. I’ve lightly oiled it but that didn’t loosen it up. It needs a minor servicing or adjustment only and then will crank once more! Cosmetically this beautiful little “706†movement is well worth the effort, with clean winding wheels and bridge nickel plates, all of the red engraving intact (a major value adder!), clean gold-washed regulator and finishing screws (case screws missing), a great overall appearance and ready for action again! The movement does show ordinary wear. It will be a great acquisition for the lucky top bidder!
