Lg Unusual 19THC Antique Chinese Enamel Gilt Copper Mirror Squirrel Grape Motif

We are pleased to offer this nice antique Chinese gilt copper and enamel hanging mirror. It is made of gilded copper and white enamel. The decoration is classic, depicting squirrels gathering grapes. The squirrels and fruits are gilded and nicely incised. One small feature which is nice is that the eyes of the squirrels are of a separate darker enamel color. There is a detachable pendant section which hangs underneath. This mirror is antique, dating to the 19th century. This mirror is a little over 14" long at it’s longest. It is a little under 8" wide at it’s widest point. Overall the condition is good. There is typical overall wear including to some of the gilt. There are the typical minor cracks and scratches in the enamel as well as a minor amount of enamel loss. There are also some bends and dents here and there. There is some minor degradation and discoloration behind the glass of the mirror. The glass has no cracks. These types of condition issues are typical of this type of enamel ware. If you are very interested in the condition please take a good look at the numerous photos and feel free to email with questions.
