Here we have for your consideration is an adorable yellow pottery bear. He is a taller cookie jar, measuring in at 12″ tall by 9″ wide, & an opening of 3-3/4″ wide. He is in absolutely astounding condition for it’s age unknown??? maker unknown??? It does have one hairline running up one side of the head & expected crackling in the still smooth polished glaze “this was what told me this one was old. He has raised relief honey bees & the most detailed handcrafted snowflakes across his body.No other hair line or crack. The inside rim of the lid is really the part that shows his ware. If you can look past these flaws, he still makes a great display piece. With this much personality he will he just have to be in you American pottery collection, or just viewed + appreciated in your home.He is marked as you can see in pic 10, it says “J. USA” who knows? is it the earliest pooh bear you’ve ever seen? In pic 12 you can see the one hairline. The feet & the base are really just in amazing condition. It was also cold painted in just black and red. I think this may just be a rare find only the good companies glazed the base Shawnee McCoy a few others .
