For sale is an Antique Beck Symmetrical 10 Inch F8 Brass Lens For Wet Plate Cameras. This is a rapid rectilinear lens dating to 1891, engraved in front- “Beck Symmetrical Lens” there is no other engravings except for the aperture scale which is from F8 to 64. The focal length is 10 inches when measured from image formed to lens back. The glass is in remarkably pristine condition without any marks or hazes except possibly for few countable faintest of marks, considering its age of more than 100 years it is crystal clear. Review last pic above for photo taken with this lens using auto bellows and a dslr. The brass aperture diaphargm open and close smoothly. Lens measures- 2 inch height; 2 inch front dia; 45mm flange id. A brass flange is included although not correct fit but machining the flange will help. Taking pictures with 100 years old brass lenses is certainly more exciting than the  common slr lenses.
